Poor Service

I went to Cabelas in Owatonna Monday Feb. 1st 2021. The place was empty and for good reason . Not one employee said hello or can I help you? Nobody spoke to me at all. The brain dead guys in the gun department just stared at me when I came to the counter. Then one reluctantly asked me what I wanted. No good afternoons or hellos or anything. I left feeling like I wasn't wanted. I'll never go back. A terrible experience. Don't go to Cabelas in Owatonna Minnesota. Go to Scheels in Rochester. It's a much better store with friendly and experienced people working there who are there to help . Cabelas in Owatonna has minimum wage people who don't know anything and who run when they see you coming. Sickening.

Poor customer appreciation

Hello, Today I had an experience that I wish to share that happened today at your Boise, Idaho location. Knowing that ammunition is in short supply myself and about 70 other people waited outside for the store to open to see if ammunition was available. Prior to today the store staff would alert people waiting in line if ammunition was available. If available outfitters would come out and pass about tickets and solicit Cabelas credit application. NOT TODAY. Several people had been waiting at the store since 7:30 AM in line in hopes that ammo would be available. NO ONE EVER came out to inform us no ammo. Store opened we walk into empty shelves. Believe me more people left with a bad taste for your store. The manager on duty was asked about not informing the waiting line and his response was sorry got busy. What? This is how you treat your customers. Granted most of us in line where hoping for ammunition but also could buy other items in the store. Very disappointed in the management at the Boise store. Why not post a sign in the entry Sorry no ammo today. Other retailers In our area do.

I was.diecieved from the start by online ordering I as given a date to expect shipment for which I have yet to receive .the double charged my credit card and caused me not to complete my Xmas shopping

They broke my order down in five different shipping. When I was told all items would be shiped and I would receive them on or before 1-1-2020.i called customer service on the credit card issue and all that was said we did not double charge which in part is true cabelas charged me 253.75 and then when it went to shipping bass pro then again charged my credit card account 253.75.i got no where with customer service on this issue.then as my order was shipped I got 2 items out of 13 in one shipment then 3 items in a separate shipment and 1 item to follow that.again I called customer service and got no we're once again.i get a different story each time I call and was refused to speak with upper management.now it's deer season and my grandson was disappointed because the items missing are waiting to ship have never arrived.i was forced to go to there competer and got what was needed for him to hunt with in 3 days of my ordering from new Jersey.cabelas and bass pro will not get anymore biz from 31 of my family members ever again..i still haven't got my order my credit card was never fixed and I can't get any answers out of customer service.so as soon as my order shows up I am returning everything seeing I got what I needed else where.cabelas is the worst I should of read the reviews I had no idea cabelas was so bad and unprofessional and not to mention they are not customer friendly.

Upset customer

Hi, I visited your Hamburg store today & ended up leaving before I had a chance to shop for what I went there for. Which really upset me because it is a ninety minute drive for me to get there.

Upon entering the store you have box with masks & sanitizer; so I thought well thats a good sign. WRONG! There was way to many people in the store either not wearing a mask, or have a mask on, but have it pulled under their chin. Even the Amish people in the store werent wearing masks.

Now I know you have signs in all your windows stating masks must be worn, but what good are they when your employees dont enforce this policy. I witnessed the employees doing nothing or saying anything to any of these people over & over. Stood right next to them & said nothing. The whole situation really upset me & I decided to leave without even looking for what I went there for.

You are not following CDC protocol or the governor of Pennsylvania. Shame on you & your company for taking a chance of personally being responsible for spreading the Covid 19 virus & may be exposing many people to it. I will not be spending any of my money there & I will make sure everybody I know will be advised to also not to support your company too.

Please do your part in getting this thing under control. Signed a very concerned customer.

I looked online and the hours stated that they closed at 8pm. When I got there at 7:40 they were closed. *** Cabela's! I'll shop at Dick's and Tackle Warehouse for now on.

Called store in Liberty Township, Ohio. and they gave me a price on ammo 13.99 a box #50 rounds. By time I got there the price was 17.99 per box. When I asked at the gun counter about the price, they said they haven't sold ammo at the price since March.

Frustration while trying to use Cabela’s website

We have had a Cabelas.com Club card for about fifteen years. My husband has been more of a fan than I. This latest experience has made me want to cancel this card and never shop at Cabelas again. I attempted to sign in to Cabelas to see how many Club points we had accrued. Each time I typed my email address in lower case letters it turned to all caps. Obviously I was unable to login. I tried Safari and Chrome browsers. So I used the website and as a guest found a chair I wanted...overpriced but good reviews. A Bodie leather recliner for 799.00. I put it in my cart and called the help line. After a frustrating conversation of 30 plus minutes with a woman who was extremely hard to understand I had lodged a complaint about the website. Then I asked if she could place my order for the item in my cart. She could, she replied. Oh, but, just a minute. She said the chair was unavailable. In the store. I realized that, I replied, but it says quite clearly Ships from Manufacturer so I assumed that the offer of free shipping with over $50.00 purchase would be honored. Oh no, she went on....I would have to call the manufacturer directly and secure that price and buy directly from them. Ridiculous! At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor, but she assured me she would lodge a second complaint. We labored through that and I said I would be available via email or phone to continue the conversation. This exercise in frustration left me wanting nothing to do with Cabelas, their card or their website in the foreseeable future, but, darn it, I did still want that comfortable looking Bodie recliner. Now you may say I am being petty. I do realize that there are much more dire issues afoot: mounting COVID cases, hyper partisan politics, a rocky Presidential transition of power, and rampaging climate change to name a few. Still and all, clear communication and trust between retailer and consumer is no small thing and my experience tonight with Cabelas has left me very frustrated and needing a glass of red wine for solace. If you find yourself reading this note all the way through to the end, bless your heart and anything you can do to restore my faith in humanity...or at least, Cabelas...will be much appreciated/ Jill Cline theclines580@***.com 1-51*-***-****

Cabela’s contacted me and discussed my concerns. We ascertained that the customer service rep did not understand or respond to my issues as she did not have an adequate command of English.

The Cabela’s rep offered me a discount on the chair I had been trying to purchase as well as free shipping from the manufacturer (25.00 fee waived).

I considered this reasonable but I cautioned her as to the large number of complaints about Cabela’s at the Pissed Consumer website. Jill Cline

Return item

Tampering device was not removed from underwear I purchased. Cabelas promptly sent return label and I promptly returned to cabelas. After 3 weeks I called to check on my return item and was told it could be another 3 weeks before I received it. Thats a total of 6 weeks. Haven’t received parts for a boat

Purchased a 2020 ranger boat in august of 2020. We are waiting on a ladder that was supposed to be delivered in October here we are January of 2021. You would think when they sold a 30,000.00 boat it would come with every part. Called several times to speak with someone in regards to missing parts and no one calls back. Very poor customer service.

I was at cabelas and purchasing a clam plate with gear box, the packag was marked 79.99 but rang up at 139.99. The fishing manager/ lady came over and ripped the sticker tag off the time and said it was wrong then offered me the discount with their credit card. Tho she never said it she heavily implied I put the tag on the item. *** them sleazy *** *** *** Cabelas for their bait and switch tactics to get you to sign up for the credit cards.
