Weston dehydrators can't get parts.

I purchased a Weston food dehydrator thru Cabela's. It was 5 years old and the fan motor gave out.

I called Cabela's and they referenced me to Weston and Weston's phone number. I called Weston twice. The first time I was told I could not get the fan/motor because of a safety issue. The second time I called and spoke with a rep, the rep told me that the unit was sold as a single unit [apparently with no user serviceable parts].

(It would have been nice to know that prior to purchase.) I told the rep that because they could not provide me with a motor/fan that I had a $150 piece of junk sitting there. Anyway, I wanted people to know about this prior to buying a food dehydrator.

If it is a Weston, I suggest you steer clear of it. There are many other namebrands out there you can go after.

8-30-2021 Weston-Cabela's Was instructed to call Weston for parts, They have none and can not state when they will ever get them. 400.00 pile of junk now.

We have had the exact same experience with the same feeling that we have now a piece of junk. We did not buy it at Cabela's however and only had it for one year

I have the same dehydrator and the fan motor went out, and the same NO parts. I will never shop at Cabelas again.

BAD they treat, think you are stupid. Did find a fan motor at a local shop.

I bought 2 digital 10 shelf Cabela brand dehydrators. They worked great until the plastic trays started to break.

I can't find any source of replacement trays. On contacting Cabelas customer service I was told that I could get them at $24 each or $240 for 10 plus tax and shipping. The dehydrator complete unit sells for $169.

Guess they don't sell many replacements. Must assume they are throw away units.

my motor *** out on the second time i used it. Just added a drop of oil on the fan motor shaft. This fixed it for awhile, still had to add oil again after 5th time of use.

I CALLED CALEBA'S BECAUSE I WANTED TO PLACE AN ORDER 250.00 PLUS HAD REWARDS CARD MAILED TO ME AND WANTED TO GET FREE SHIPPING CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ROBIN SAID NO WAY. REALLY???????? Nikon M-223 Riflescope Review

Yesterday morning, 11/26/2015, I ordered the Nikon m-223 20 min after it was posted on slickguns.com and it successfully went through. Today I got their generic email basically saying sorry we're not going to honor our sale price. With all the competition out there I have plenty other stores to buy from. I'll never shop their again!

Very Disappointed

Went to the Cabelas in Dundee , Mi. today 12/9/15 hoping to get some Christmas gifts and décor, but nothing. The Christmas decorations for home, well forget it, very little to pick from and the ornamentshe told , well I couldv've went to a Dollar Store . I didn't see any Woolrich in womens Dept. which I usually buy cause of a better brand to last. My husband had a list of 12 items he wanted to buy in hunting and gun and ammo dept. only had 4 and told a person in the gun Dept, I had this list to buy and your has nothing. The employee said: Oh well that's how it goes. No response to say, how can I help you. You can sell some of your store out to Bass Pro and yes, to expensive in retail, we can go to another popular store and get better quality cheaper. Employees that helped us apologized for not having stuff. ThankYou for reading my disappointing visit to your store.

Cabelas Nikon M223 Bait and Switch

I ordered several M-223 rifle scopes from Cabela's on Black Friday as gifts for family members. The price was low but not out of order with other good deals one typically sees on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. There were in stock and the order was accepted and charged to my Cabela's card. I received an e-mail the next day, as well as 2 others over the next few days reiterating the first, that the pricing was a mistake and they were cancelling my order. While this may not meet the legal definition of a "bait and switch," in which a product is offered as a substitute at a higher return for the advertiser, it is certainly a switch. Considering the bad PR and loss of customers this "mistake" is going to cause, I would think Cabela's would be further ahead simply honoring the price and being a bit more careful in the future. This kind of practice, especially during a time period where good deals are offered and expected, is simply bad practice and I will be shopping elsewhere whenever possible. I have also cancelled my Cabela's VISA card.

You obviously are unhappy as I've read the exact same post on a couple forums. Maybe you should quit whining and be more grown up.

It's the retail business and if you read the 'fine print', Cabelas can and will) not honor a price thats been mis-published. Thats SOP for any retailer and always has been.

I hope you contacted Cabela's corporate and told them what you think of this. I believe your situation is similar to another complaint I read about recently.

Apparently, Cabela's made a mistake in pricing and rather than doing the "right" thing, they just cancelled the orders. That's a mistake on their part. Thanks for sharing your story.

Might be best to shop at Gander Mountain, etc. rather than Cabela's.

Terrible Service

I have received the absolute worst customer service this week from Cabela's. So much so, I will probably cancel my Cabela's card. I don't spend millions but average two to three thousand dollars a year.If this is how Cabela's treats it's customers, I no longer wish to be part of what I thought was a great organization. Terrible information, terrible telephone experience, including being cut off, and the promise of a call back that never happened.Please forward this to someone in the organization that cares.

Cabelas - Heritage Rough Rider Revolver Review from Bentley, Michigan

This morning I drove an hour to the Saginaw, Michigan store. I stood in the rain for two hours, for their black Friday sales, then when i finally got inside, they were already out of the Heritage Rough Rider handgun that i was after.

It is supposed to be a five hour sale, but they were sold out in ten minutes.

If they were only going to have a couple of them in the store they should have put that in their ad, and not mislead people by telling them it's a five hour sale. I've been a loyal and long time customer of Cabela's, but i'm very disgusted with them today!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Purchased $73 worth of clothing online. There were 2 pending charges on my bank account, 1 for $73 and 1 for $31. I called to ask what the $31 was for and they said it was a credit for 2 items that were on back order until February. 2 days later I received half the order and had 2 charges on my bank account 1 for $42 and 1 of $31, Called customer service again and was told that all of my order had been delivered, which it had not. How can something that is on back order for 2 months be delivered? Still waiting on my refund. Will never shop here again.

Cabela's jeans - poor quality and not really a lifetime guarantee

I bought a pair of Cabela's unlined traditional fit jeans and after some normal (non-work, just casual wear) use both front pockets developed holes - it was as if the material used for the manufacture of the pocket lining was either defective or of a very poor quality. Cabela's customer service claimed that this was normal wear and tear and that the lifetime guarantee for Cabela's-branded merchandise did not apply. I don't ever remember buying a pair of jeans that this happened to before. Buyer beware.

Poor managment with customers

in all my 50 years of retail, i never had a company call a customer at home for more money because a cashier did not follow the proper training on a special credit ticket.my husband gave me a splecial discount ticket in which i told the cashier the ticket is for the rain coat and my family pass on two different items. i paid the totalto her with my credit card. the next day on sunday i was told to come in and pay more because the cashier under charged me. managers would not let me tell what i told herand insisted i pay the amount she messed up.Holly the second in charge of the store did not train them the way they were to ring people out on spl days.i will never shop there again-- husband and i used to order on phone untill the store opened. why should i have to correct her mess up/ i am a customer not an employee gingertootie44@***.com

Worst service I have ever had,

Called to get a price on a rifle at the Columbus Ohio Cabelas. Call twice and after waiting 4 to 5 minutes for someone to answer, was finally transferred then, after no answer after 4 to 5 min was hung up on twice!! Then the third time after the usual 4 to 5 min for someone to answer, was asked to leave a message! Really! Want good service and good prices Columbus?? Go to Vances like I did. Oh and by the way, I am a Club member with a Silver status, may be my last. I am a patient man but when you wait on the phone for over 15 minutes you would expect as least the courtesy for someone to at least answer and say " we are extremely busy can you call back later or can I take a message. If that would have happened on the first call I would not be pissed! but yep now I'm pisssed!!!

Cabelas has sale but no product

Cabelas is currently having daily sales on select items. An item on sale for Nov. 17, 2015 is some Men's Keen Alamosa hiking shoes. I checked on their website the evening of Nov. 16 and they only showed a few sizes of these shoes at the full price. I thought that kind of strange but figured they were holding back the supply in anticipation of the sale. I woke up at 5 am on Nov. 17 and went to the Cabelas website to order the shoes. They were sold out. Obviously, they had very little inventory of shoes to begin with and should never have advertised the shoes. I've been a Cabelas Club member for over 20 years but am about done with them after this debacle.
