On 11/27/2015 I submitted on order online thru Cabela's website for a Nikon M-223 riflescope. It was a great price & if it wasn't for the fact that it was a Pre-Black Friday ad, I might have questioned the price but I figured they're a big company & must know what they're doing. The order was accepted. On 11/28/2015 I received an email that stated the following:

Dear Cabelaโ€™s customer,

Thank you for your recent order for the NIKON M223 RIFLESCOPE.

Every effort is made to avoid mistakes in our catalogs as well as on our Online Store, however, should errors inadvertently appear, we reserve the right to correct them. The NIKON M223 RIFLESCOPE was inadvertently listed with the incorrect price.

In light of this, your order for this item will be cancelled and/or returned to Cabela's. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause. We appreciate your interest in our merchandise, and we welcome the opportunity to serve your sporting needs.

You're *** right I'm disappointed. Most companies take responsibility for their mistakes but apparently Cabela's doesn't. I have since closed my Club Visa account and will no longer do business with them.

Reason of review: Pricing issue.

Same thing just happened to me. I only got a comfermashion email.

Checked it myself to find out my order was canceled. Vary disputed with the service.

requested to cash my gift cards. with this kind of customer service, it's just a matter of time when they'll be gone for good

They just did it to me as well. So it's still going on in 2017.

I didn't get a email.

Nothing. Only reason I knew was cause I saw money back on my Card.

I too have had this issue multiple times. Last time was on a scope, prompted me to look up the problem.

I believe this is a false advertisement issue, someone should spank them for it. Cabela's spends millions on advertising, I find it hard to believe that they cant figure out how many items they have in stock and how many orders they have at any given time.

Talk about poor customer service. I got the same email and of course that was a day after I received the email confirming my order!

There has been a Facebook community created called Cabelas Black Friday victims for anyone interested .I myself got screwed out of my Black Friday shopping by spending my money with Cabelas on three of these scopes and then at the close of the day when all the deals were gone elsewere my order was cancelled and I was left with nothing.Thought I'd share that......

Charged my CC on 11/26/15 for a Nikon M-223 3-12x42 600BDC scope, order status went from pending to back-ordered, then to canceled when I checked 11/29/15 AM. Cabela's WILL NEVER, EVER GET 1 MORE THIN DIME FROM MY WALLET.

My order got cancelled too. I talked to them at length about this today.

This sale ran all day, over 3,000 of these scopes were sold. Someone in corporate caught wind and said that's too cheap, cancel the orders. This wasn't a "mistake", it's a poorly ran company. Oh and then they tried to sell me another model scope.

How many other accessories did they sell because of the traffic from this scope.

Scam of a company, a lawyer needs to make a few million on this and get everyone their product.

Got the same email as well, called customer service told me sorry there is nothing they can do, talked to supervisor, who laughed at me and again Im sorry nothing we can do about it. First time customer, last time customer! Why I deal with Gander Mountain!!

Same deal here! Very *** poor way to conduct business. I'm sure a company as large as Cabela's had at least one person verify the price before posting it.

Once my credit card is refunded, I'm pulling my account with them.

At least they didn't pull this stunt in the same manner as ***'s Sporting Goods did awhile back---they cancelled AR-15 orders in reaction to some doped-up kid shooting up a school, I believe. They felt good about doing that, I guess.

That's my reason for dropping ***'s as a place to shop. In your case, someone made a mistake but I, too would have thought they would take responsibility for their mistake. Guess not.

Seems you can't trust Cabela's any more than any other business. Try Gander Mountain.
